2024 Workshop #1: Business 101

We had an incredible start to our 2024 Program with our Business 101 Workshop yesterday! Guest speaker, Twanna Toliver kicked off the workshop by leading us in activities and entrepreneurship basics.

Next, our mentors helped students identify skills that would serve them well in their career and how they could nurture these skills. We also did a crash course on Excel so students could start building that skill as well!

Finally, we got to hear from two inspiring black girls who mean business. BGMB Ambassador Kayli Joy Cooper spoke about her organization, Girl Well, what inspired her and how it's going. Tyla-Simone Crayton wrapped up our workshop by talking about her businesses Sienna Sauce and Sienna Wings, and the importance of building community as an entrepreneur.
